Home > Tamil Movies > Tamil Cinema NewsDhanush played the role of an ageing father in director Vetrimaran’s blockbuster drama Asuran. Also starring Manju Warrier, Ken Karunas, Teejay Arunasalam in important roles, The 'Vekkai' adaptation was produced by Kalaippuli S. Thanu of V Creations.
Thanu had announced that Asuran will be having a Telugu adaptation, with Venkatesh and Priyamani reprising Dhanush and Manju Warrier's roles in the film. Titled Narappa, the film is also produced by V Creations, in association with Suresh Productions while Sreekanth Addala directs the film.
Narappa has cinematography by Syam K. Naidu while Marthand K Venkatesh and Gandhi Nadikudikar handle the editing and art departments respectively. Narappa premiered on 20 July 2021 on Amazon Prime Video. The film received generally positive reviews from critics, lauding Venkatesh's performance, the faithful remake of the original, and Addala's direction.
In a latest post on his Instagram handle, Venkatesh shared a particularly tough scene he enacted and here's what he has to say about it - "A tough emotional scene for me but an even tougher decision for Narappa. #NarappaOnPrime, watch now: link in bio! @primevideoin."
