Telugu superstar Akkineni Nagarjuna will be next seen playing the lead in Manmadhudu 2, Rahul Ravindran's second film as a director after Chi La Sow. The actor is paired opposite Rakul Preet Singh while actors Vennela Kishore, Lakshmi and others play crucial supporting roles.
A new promo from the film was released which introduced the film's female protagonist Avanthika, played by Rakul Preet Singh. The video featured the actress in a bold, raunchy avatar. It is noted that Manmathudu 2 is the sequel to the 2002 rom-com Manmadhudu, which also had Nagarjuna playing the lead.
The makers had initially released the teaser which featured Nagarjuna's character, a Casanova-like character. Apart from the leads, Manmathudu 2 also features Vennela Kishor, Devadarshini, Lakshmi and others in crucial roles.
Manmathudu 2 also features a cameo performance from actress and daughter-in-law of Nagarjuna, Samantha Akkineni, and actress Keerthy Suresh. The film is jointly produced by Annapurna Studios,Manam Enterprises,Viacom 18 Studios and Anandi Art Creations. The film's music is composed by Chaitan Bharadwaj while M. Sukumar handles the editing department.
