Bankrolled by Suriya's 2D Entertainment in association with Guneet Monga, Soorarai Pottru features Aparna Balamurali as the leading lady. Multi-faceted GV Prakash has rocked the BGM's for the film after his acclaimed scored in Dhanush's Asuran recently.

On the personal front, Suriya attended the book launch event of his Non-profit organization, Agaram. The actor broke down in tears when Gayathri, who has benefited from the organization, shared her inspiring story of overcoming her struggles. The video went viral on the internet as fans proudly shared comments on the noble and pure heart of the actor.

Ramraj Cotton's founder K.R Nagarajan was also present on the stage along with Suriya during the event, as he is an active philanthropist who has contributed immensely to the Agaram Foundation. While talking about the incident, he stated that Suriya is a very kind-hearted person. 

He also shared a story that Suriya's father Sivakumar and Suriya himself attended a 12th-grade graduation function once to felicitate the students and that the boy who came to receive the award had holes in the back of his dress. 

"The boy had come to them and told that he can manage without this amount and asked if he could donate it to his friends in an existential crisis." Said Nagarajan. The Ramraj's founder then added that Suriya's outlook changed that day and that is when he decided to start the Agaram foundation.
