A sea of politicians surround a building like an island, this is one of the visuals present in the teaser of Selvaraghavan directed NGK, which is a throwback to the iconic scene in Pudhupettai. The film stars an in-form Suriya and going by the teaser, the film will be the most massiest film from director Selvaraghavan as the bloodshed is toned down to a huge extent.

Suriya - Selvaraghavan's NGK official teaser review

NGK positions the protagonist Nandha Gopalan Krishnan as a Messiah of the masses who takes a plunge into politics. NGK, in many ways, seems to be the opposite Pudhupettai, a film that portrays politics with cynicism. Yuvan Shankar Raja's score elevates the heroism with a lot of playfulness.

Much of a glimpse is not given to the supporting cast and the heroine's roles, except the fact that Sai Pallavi plays the love interest and one can guess that Rakul Preet Singh might play a white collared professional, going by her sharp-suited attire. The film has a warm yellow coloured tone and one of the most arresting visual includes a bloodied hand rising from below the frame, terrifying a whole crowd, giving an intense and befitting finale to the teaser.

The film also does not back away from giving references of real life politicians (the images of MGR are repeatedly shown in the background) which is great sign. On the whole, NGK promises to be a David Vs Goliath like political drama that may not shy away from commenting on present day politics.
