ADRA SAKKA!! SIVAKARTHIKEYAN'S 'DOCTOR' BREAKS RECORDS AT BOX OFFICE IN SPITE OF PANDEMIC! - CHECK OUT FOR DETAILS

The movie, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, was completed several months ago, but had been lying in the cans for sometime due to various reasons including the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic and Tamil Nadu elections. The release date announcement came on September 18 and the trailer was released on September 25. The makers had then released a glimpse of the super-hit 'Chellamma' song glimpse and the 'Soul of Doctor' theme song. 

With the movie's popularity increasing, several fans thronged theatres and all showtimes have been running housefull in multiple theatres. The movie stars Priyanka Mohan, Vinay, Yogi Babu, Archana, Arun Alexandar, Deepa, and Ilavarasu in other pivotal roles. 'Doctor' had a simultaneous release in Telugu as 'Varun Doctor'. 

It has now been revealed by sources that 'Doctor's' gross collection in Tamil Nadu on the first day collection has been recorded to be around Rs 7.36 crores. Theatres in the state have been running with only 50 per cent occupancy. Yet, the film managed to grab an incredible feat. Sivakarthikeyan's previous highest collection on the first day was 'Seemaraja' directed by Ponram, which collected Rs 10.8 crores with full occupancy in theatres. 

'Doctor' is produced by Actor Sivakarthikeyan under his banner Sivakarthikeyan Productions. Kotapadi J Rajesh's KJR Studios is a co-producer and distributor of the film. The music is scored by Anirudh. The ace-actor is currently working on his college-based entertainer 'Don'. It is directed by Cibi Chakaravarthi and Produced by SK Productions and Lyca Productions. Meanwhile, Director Nelson Dilipkumar is busy with the shoot of Thalapathy Vijay's biggie 'Beast'.
