Singer Bakya talks about Sarkar experience

Sarkar is an upcoming film directed by AR Murugadoss that has Vijay and Keerthy Suresh in the lead roles, while actors like Yogi Babu, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Radha Ravi play crucial supporting roles. The film has music composed by AR Rahman, and the first track of the album, titled Simtaangaran released yesterday.

Simtaangaran had lyrics written by Vivek, while Bamba Bakya, Vipin and Aparna sang the song. Out of them, Behindwoods got in touch with singer Bamba Bakya and he revealed how Rahman first spotted his talent,

"I met Rahman sir 15 years ago, but he didn't know that I was a singer, and I too didn't tell him. There were a lot of top class singers and I thought I would never get a chance to sing. However, when I was singing at Rahman's driver's wedding, he saw me and 6 months later, he made me sing a song in Ravanan."

He also added how the experience of singing for Sarkar was, "When I was in the studio, Vivek sir, Rahman Sir and Vipin sir were present. They made us understand the lyrics well, and finally we recorded everything in 2 hours. It is quite long, but we did it smoothly."

During the interview, he was seen sporting a trendy costume. When asked about it, he said "This was actually given by Rahman sir. He said this is a trendy costume and gave it to me. He doesn't usually do this for others, but did it for me."
