Seemaraja's box office performance in Madurai and North South Arcot

Sivakarthikeyan's Seemaraja, directed by Ponram, released on September 13th, getting a grand opening at the box office. Behindwoods got in touch with selected distributors of few regions outside Chennai, to know about the film's opening and its box office performance for the opening weekend.

Cheenu, who released the Sivakarthikeyan starrer in North and South Arcot areas, shared that the film took a very good opening on the first day. "Seemaraja took an extraordinary opening on the first day. The opening day collections were on par with bigger stars' films. Friday being a working day, saw an acceptable drop in the occupancy, but, there has been a good increase today, (September 15, Saturday), with family audience turning up to the theatres.

The general opinion of the public regarding the film is that they feel, the first half is better than the second half. It is a good family entertainer. The first four days collection of the film will be a box office record for Sivakarthikeyan.", said Cheenu.

On the other hand, Azhagar, who distributed Seemaraja in the Madurai area, also shared similar box office reports. Azhagar stated, "We released the film over 50 screens in Madurai and the opening day collection was indeed huge. There was a slight dip on the second day since it was a working day. Today's response was much better and the film is expected to do well tomorrow also.

Since the Quarterly exams are approaching, we need to wait for the next weekend, to know how the film performs in the coming days. Sivakarthikeyan enjoys a good children fan base, that will reflect in many families coming to the theatre. Velaikkaran was not a children friendly film, but still, the families came to the theatres, because of their kids. We are expecting the same with Seemaraja too. Let us see how the film is being received next week."
