Recently, as part of Thondan promotions, Behindwoods had an interview with the Appa director, and when we told him about the very good feedbacks for Appa received from the audience, he replied saying, "The audiences are always ready. They don't expect or ask for any skin show, glamour scenes, item song, comedy scenes or anything. Had they asked for something like that, films like D16 or Maanagaram wouldn't have had a successful run. The audiences are very clear on what they want. They want to get excited, relaxed and experience different emotions. The mistake is not with the audiences, but with the filmmakers."
