And marking this special day, several fans have taken to their social media and are trending hashtags related to it.
Meanwhile, the makers of one of the much-awaited sports films, 83 which is helmed by Kabir Khan has paid an amazing tribute to this anniversary and celebrated it by unveiling a special video dedicated to the players who brought home the World Cup for the first time.
The multi starrer film, 83 which is based on the life of veteran cricketer Kapil Dev, talks about the time India won the coveted World Cup in 1983 and will feature Ranveer Singh in the lead essaying the role of Kapil Dev.
Apart from Ranveer, the film also features Deepika Padukone, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Saqib Saleem, Harrdy Sandhu, Ammy Virk, Jiiva, Pankaj Tripathi, Boman Irani, Nishant Dahiya, Sahil Khattar and Amrita Puri in prominent roles.
