PUNEETH RAJKUMAR GIVES A NEW LEASE OF LIFE FOR FOUR PEOPLE EVEN AFTER HIS DEATH; FANS TURN EMOTIONAL!!

Condolences poured in from fans and colleagues from the film fraternity, as well as sports personalities and politicians. After his mortal remains were kept at Kanteerava Stadium for public homage, Puneeth was laid to rest close to his father, the legendary actor Dr Rajkumar, and mother Parvathamma at the Kanteerava Studio in Bengaluru.

Apart from being an ace actor, he also believed in social causes and donated generously to charities and foundations. While he continued the initiatives started by his father, Puneeth also set up 45 Free Schools, 26 Orphanages, 19 Goshale and 16 Old Age Homes. He also was responsible for the education of 1800 students. Following in the footsteps of his late father Dr Rajkumar and mother Parvathamma, the 'Power Star' had decided to donate his eyes.

Accordingly, on the day of Puneeth's death, his elder brother Raghavendra called the Dr. Rajkumar Eye Bank, which is run by Narayana Nethralaya, to collect the actor’s eyes. It has now come to light that his eyes were donated to four people on the same day by doctors at the Narayana Nethralaya in Bengaluru.

Each eye of the late actor was used to treat two patients. The superior and deeper layers of the cornea were separated. The superior layer was transplanted to two patients who had superficial corneal disease, and only the deeper layer was transplanted to patients with endothelial or deep corneal layer disease. All four patients - three males and one female - were between 20-30 years of age. The transplant was done free of cost in honour of the Rajkumar family.
