Now, the news is of popular actress Chithra who is known for her works in Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu industries. Apart from acting in more than 100 films, the actress also had acted in several serials as well. The actress is said to have passed away due to heart attack in Chennai this morning (August 21).

Even at a very young age Chithra attained popularity with her acting talents as child artiste. She gained stardom with her hit movies with top stars in Malayalam. In Tamil she made her mark with Rajinikanth's 'Oorkaavalan' and Prabhu's 'En Thangacchi Padichava', and received accolades for her acting skills with the blockbuster film 'Cheran Pandiyan', taking the meaty role of Sarathkumar's sister.

For the unversed, she is nicknamed “Nallennai Chithra” because of the fame she attained with the advertisement of an oil company she had featured in. The actress is survived by her husband and a daughter Mahalakshmi.
