Ahead of the release, reports were also doing rounds about the much-anticipated film running into trouble with theatre owners as the makers had planned an OTT release within two weeks of the release on big screens. There were also other reports that stated that Suriya's blockbuster 'Soorarai Pottru' and Arya's recent hit 'Sarpatta Parambarai' might be re-released in theatres to recreate the experience on big screens.

Dismissing the arrangements, theatre owners released a statement asserting that films released directly on OTT platforms will not be screened in theatres. They also said Producers should release their films on OTT platforms only after four weeks of theatrical release.
