Mersal was Sri Thenandal Films’ 100th production and starred Thalapathy Vijay in the lead. The film was directed by Atlee and also starred Nithya Menen, Kajal Aggarwal and Samantha in the lead roles. SJ Suryah was seen in a pivotal role. AR Rahman had provided with the music. Vijay was seen in a triple role in the film.

Upon release, the film met with a positive reception. Ace comedian Vadivelu was also back in the movie with Vijay post his collaboration in films like Sachien, Kavalan, etc.

Now, the production house is gearing up for its next venture which is touted to be “India’s first giant super hero” project in the words of Hema Rukmani, CEO of Thenandal Entertainment, Director at Thenandal Studios Limited.

This sure looks interesting and we need to wait and watch as to what’s in store us for this time around. Thenandal, a prestigious production house, is known for throwing its weight behind movies like Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya, Dhilluku Dhuddu and the like.
