The actor is likely to play dual roles as Govind and Acharya in the film. Touted to be a socio-political actioner, the plot of the film reportedly revolves around a middle-aged Naxalite-turned-social reformer who launches a fight against the Endowments Department over misappropriation of temple funds and donations.

Kajal Aggarwal plays the female lead, and Sonu Sood is also on board in an important role in the movie. A couple of days ago rumours were rife that the makers are planning to postpone Acharya's release due to multiple reasons.

However, the makers have now officially released a statement and also thrashed the rumours stating that the film will hit the big screens on May 13th as per the plan announced earlier.
