COURT NOTICE TO VIRAT KOHLI, TAMANNAAH; HERE'S WHAT HAPPENED
Home > Tamil Movies > Tamil Cinema NewsThe Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court has sent notices to cricketer Virat Kohli and actor Tamannaah for acting in advertisements, promoting online betting. The court acted on a plea filed by one Mohammed Rasvi of Madurai, calling for a ban on online betting games.
When the case came before Justices Kirubakaran and Pughazendhi, they ruled that many celebrities aren’t concerned about advertisements that affect general public at large and are only interested in filling their pockets.
They also questioned as to why they don’t think that commoners get influenced by celebrities and will emulate them and not act in a responsible manner.
The central and state governments have sent notices to various celebrities for promoting betting. The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court has also asked the central and state governments to reply in this regard.
As far as professional end of things are concerned, Virat Kohli led Royal Challengers Bengaluru booked the playoffs bench. As far as Tammy is concerned, she recently recovered from COVID-19 and is busy with a slew of projects.
