Soorarai Pottru is based on former army captain and founder of Air Deccan, GR Gopinath’s book “Simply Fly”. The film also featured Paresh Rawal, Dr.Mohan Babu, Urvashi, Poo Ramu, Karunas, Vivek Prasanna amongst others in lead roles.
When Behindwoods got in touch with the father of Maara, actor Poo Ramu, the actor opens up about one of the most emotional scenes that has touched millions hearts, the slapping scene where the father who is angered with his son asks him (Suriya) to leave the house and the airport scene where Suriya pleads to help him financially to get a ticket to visit his father.
About the slapping scene, actor Ramu said that Suriya had asked the actor to really slap on his face instead of doing the camera tricks. The actor also said that he had once got a chance to be enrolled in Airforce but because of this particular reason he could not join the force. Watch here to know more -
