There were 190 people onboard. As many as 18 people, including both pilots, died in the crash, according to the latest updates.
Many others were seriously injured. More details about this are still awaited. The flight was being operated as part of Centre’s Vande Bharat Mission. The reason for the accident is considered that the plane overshot during landing amidst troubled weather conditions in Kerala.
The Boeing 737 aircraft went down 35 feet into a slope before its fuselage broke into two pieces. PM Narendra Modi had contacted Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan and enquired about the incident. Many actors and celebrities have also offered their condolences for the grieving families at this tragic moment.
