Kavitha entered the film industry with the 1976 Tamil film O Manju. In the same year, she acted in the Telugu film Siri Siri Muvva. She has acted in more than 350 films in Telugu alone. She has acted in many films such as Attukkara Alamelu, Kaatrinile Varum Geetham, Andaman Kadhali, Alli Darbar, Nadodi Thendral, Vaidehi Kalyanam, Natchathira Nayakan, Senthamizh Paattu and such.

Kavitha is known for her appearances in television serials as well. Sometime back, her son Sai Roop had succumbed to coronavirus. Now, unfortunately, her husband Dasaratharaj has also passed away due to the virus. Many celebrities have been condoling the actress’s loss.
