Nasser and Kamal Haasan are said to be good friends. Therefore, it came across as no surprise when Nasser’s wife Kameela Nasser chose to associate herself with Kamal Haasan’s party, Makkal Needhi Maiam. However, earlier in the day, she released a press statement, saying she has quit the party over personal reasons.

In the last Lok Sabha election, Kameela Nasser contested from the Chennai Central constituency. However, she didn’t contest in the recently concluded state assembly elections. The election results are said to be announced on May 2. We’d have to wait and watch as to how Kamal Haasan and his party perform.
