Ranu Mondal rose to fame after a video of her singing a song of Lata Mangeshkar went viral on social media. After that song, the singer who came from humble grounds was given an offer by music director Himesh Reshammiya to sing in the movie ‘Happy Hardy and Heer’. From then, Ranu became more popular and was loved by all for her mesmerising sound.
The singer also had received ‘The Internet Sensation’ award during the Behindwoods Gold Mic Music Awards. The life of Ranu Mondal will also be seen in the silver screen soon. Reportedly, filmmaker Hrishikesh Mondal had confirmed that he approached National Award-winning Bengali actress Sudipta Chakraborty for the role of Ranu Mondal in the film, tentatively titled Platform Singer Ranu Mondal.
