EXCLUSIVE: ''VIJAY SIR ONLY INSISTED THAT WE USE HER''

Behindwoods had an exclusive chat with music composer D.Imman, who talked about his musical journey, his style of composing and much more.

When asked about the idea of using Priyanka Chopra as a singer in his debut film Tamizhan, Imman told us that, it was Vijay who gave the idea of using PC as the singer. Imman was quoted as saying, "It's been ages since both the lead actors of a film sang a song together, and we thought why not for this one. Also, the tune was more like a rhyme, and the lyrics were very simple and attractive. Vijay sir was the one who told us that Priyanka Chopra would sing well, and he only insisted that we use her.

She used to hum songs in the shooting spot, and that is how Vijay sir knew that she could sing. And then, the song happened. We recorded the song for some seven hours, but she was totally into it, and never expressed any difficulty."
