HBO Max, a video streaming service was launched by WarnerMedia Entertainment in the United States, but the company has no immediate plans to bring it to India.

HBO Max not available in India may launch later

“In Asia, we are continuing to focus on our regional streaming service HBO GO and our bouquet of pay TV linear services including HBO, for the time being," the company said in response to the same.

While channels like HBO, CNN and Cartoon Network are available in India, HBO GO, is yet to come though it is present in countries like Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, etc.

As and when HBO Max releases in India, it has to compete with the likes of Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, Disney-Hot Star, and regional platforms like Zee5, ALTBalaji and such. However, it is being speculated that the streaming platform should find some success with urban millennials.
