And a such unusual statement - “Urging you not to watch these two films of mine” comes as a rather shocking one from the ace filmmaker himself. But he definitely has a point and his reason is sure to make you fall in love with the director even more.

In a video that was requested by the Ramanathapuram District’s SP, Dr. Varun Kumar IPS, the filmmaker Gautham Menon urges citizens to sit inside their homes itself during the ongoing Lockdown that has been imposed to curb the spread of the deadly Coronavirus.

GVM says one must follow the 144 that has been imposed and try not to go against the law else, punishment in any ways (fine or approaching the court) will be a problem for the law-breakers. He further urges people to spend their quarantine time reading books, try helping the daily-wage earners through online, watching movies and all.

Talking about the movies, he also makes a gentle request, “Usually when we talk, we generally ask people to watch movies, but this time please do not watch my 2 films - Simbu and Manjima Mohan starrer Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada and Thala Ajith and Trisha starrer Yennai Arindhaal.”

Elaborating the reason, he says in Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada, STR takes his girlfriend, Manjima for a long ride which is a beautiful sight indeed and may inspire you too at this particular moment which does not seem to be appropriate. In Yennai Arindhaal, Thala Ajith will take his daughter to many states which again sets a bad example at his particular situation. Watch the video here -
