Vijay Sethupathi was last seen in Thiagarajan Kumararaja's second directorial, Super Deluxe that was also produced by Kumararaja under the banner Tyler Durden and Kino Fist. The film also had Samantha Akkineni, Fahadh Faasil, Mysskin, Ramya Krishnan, Bagavathi Perumal, and others playing crucial roles.
He is currently working on a film titled Laabam, directed by SP Jananathan, that also has Shruti Haasan playing the female lead. Actors like Kalaiyarasan and Jagapathi Babu play supporting roles. It must be noted that Jananathan and Vijay Sethupathi had earlier worked on the film Purampokku, that also starred Arya.
The latest update about this project is that the first schedule at Rajapalayam has been completed. The project is bankrolled by Vijay Sethupathi Productions in association with Arumuga Kumar, who had produced Sethupathi’s Oru Nalla Naal Paathu Solren.
Apart from Laabam, VJS has films like Maamanithan, Sindhubaadh, and a project with Vijay Chander of Sketch fame in the pipeline. On the other hand, Shruti Haasan will be coming back to Kollywood after she acted in Suriya's Singam 3.
