BEHINDWOODS GOLD MEDALS - THE ICONIC EDITION: A STAR-STUDDED SPECTACLE

The Special and Iconic edition of Behindwoods Gold Medals was conducted on Sunday evening, December 16, 2018, at the Chennai Trade Centre. Behindwoods Gold Medals is the product of hard work and dedication and this evening stood testimony to the fact.

The ceremony was hosted by television actor and video jockey Rio Raj and YouTube sensation RJ Vigneshkanth. The two helped connect with the audience as well as make the celebrities feel at ease on stage.

The award of the day - the Lifetime Achievement awards were granted to Singeetam Srinivasa Rao and Nassar for their unwavering commitment towards the field of cinema. AR Murugadoss was honoured with the Behindwoods Gold Medal for Best Socially Responsible Filmmaker and the Woman Icon of Inspiration in Cinema went to Khushbu Sundar and Simran.

Some of the celebrities who graced the event were Arvind Swami, Pa Ranjith, Gouri G Kishan, Aadhitya Baaskar, Easwari Rao, Yogi Babu, Andrea Jeremiah, Sid Sriram, Trisha Krishnan, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Chinmayi Sripaada, Shiva, Govind Vasantha, Vivek, Raghava Lawrence and Kathir.

As a new addition this year, awards were presented to recognise television shows and the effort that goes behind in making one. Television shows are similar to movies and in fact, take even harder work and patience to make one. The sixth edition of Behindwoods Gold Medals recognised the talent and effort behind television shows.

Prajin of Chinna Thambi fame bagged the Best Popular Actor - Television and Shabana Shajahan won the Best Popular Actress - Television for her role in Semburathi. The real-life and reel-life couple Alya Manasa and Sanjeev Karthick were presented the Best Popular Pair - Television.

Quoting celebrities, “Thanks again to Behindwoods from everyone here for recognising those under the roof,” and “Thank you Behindwoods. The award show is being conducted very elegantly.”

The special and iconic edition of Behindwoods Gold Medals was indeed a spectacular event. The star-studded affair came in as the perfect way to celebrate the 15th year of the Behindwoods. Thank you all for the love and support.
