Recently, in Kerala, a young woman Vismaya had died by suicide owing to the abuse inflicted on her by her husband Kiran for dowry. The tragic death of Vismaya opened a can of worms in a society otherwise thought to be progressive.
Retweeting a post by MP Kanimozhi on dowry, director Seenu Ramasamy registered –

Seenu Ramasamy’s most popular films are Thenmerku Paruvakaatru, Neerparavai, Dharma Durai amidst others. He last directed Kanne Kalaimaane that starred Udhayanidhi Stalin and Tamannaah in the lead and is now ready with Maamanithan that stars Vijay Sethupathi and Gayathrie in the lead. Owing to the current pandemic situation, it is not yet clear when the film will hit the marquee.
