Darbar is bankrolled by Lyca Productions and has Anirudh's pumping music. This upcoming police-oriented flick features Nayanthara as the leading lady and Yogi Babu, Nivetha Thomas, Jeeva, Jatin Sarna, Prateik Babbar, Nawab Shah and others in key roles.

There were several claims and speculations among the netizens that Rajini watched either of the latest Diwali releases, Thalapathy's Bigil or Karthi's Kaithi in theatres and now, it is revealed that the pictures were taken when the ace actor had watched the special show of the upcoming Malayalam flick 'Shyama Ragam' by Sethu Eya, featuring music by the late legendary composer Dakshinamoorthy.
