''IN A STATE OF SHOCK! DEEPLY SADDENED AND DISHEARTENED'', DEEPIKA

The team of Padmavati, including director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, actors Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, and others were attacked yesterday (27th January), while shooting in Jaipur.
 

They were allegedly attacked by members of the Rajput Karni Sena at the Jaigarh Fort claiming that the film shows their queen Padmavati in a bad light. Reacting to this, Deepika Padukone posted several tweets in which she expressed his shock and disappointment over the incident.

She tweeted, “In a state of shock!deeply saddened and disheartened by yesterday's events!#Padmavati. As Padmavati I can assure you that there is absolutely no distortion of history #Padmavati. Our only endeavour is & has always been to share with the world the story of this courageous & powerful woman in the purest form there is.”
