Home > Tamil Movies > Tamil Cinema NewsA couple of days ago, March 14 to be precise, the news of National Award-winning director SP Jananathan’s death left all of us shocked. He was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Chennai when he breathed his last after suffering a cardiac arrest.
The director was working on the edits of his latest film 'Laabam' which features Vijay Sethupathi and Shruti Haasan in the lead when his assistants found the filmmaker unconscious at his residence, post which he was immediately taken to the hospital.
Now, director Balamurali Varman has taken to his social media to inform that the late director SP Jananathan’s younger sister Lakshmi passed away last night (March 16). She was said to be unwell during the last days of her brother’s demise.
For the unversed, SP Jananathan started his career with the 2003 drama Iyarkai, for which he won a National Award and his popular films include E, Peranmai and Purampokku Engira Podhuvudamai.
