Following this, a complaint was lodged by VCK at the Chennai Police Commissioner's Office seeking action against the actress. Chennai Central Crime Branch - Cyber Crime Police had registered a case against the actress and further proceedings were initiated.
Meera Mitun was apparently staying in Kerala, when she was booked by the Chennai Police. The case was registered against her under the SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act. A video of Meera Mithun screaming is going viral on social media. In the video, we can hear the cops asking her to hand over her phone. The video was shot moments before she was arrested by the police.
It is said she is being brought to Chennai and expected to be sent to judicial remand.
