ASSAM CHIEF MINISTER ANNOUNCES A HALF-DAY SPECIAL LEAVE TO WATCH 'THE KASHMIR FILES' - EXCITING DETAILS!

Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Darshan Kumar amongst several others have featured in 'The Kashmir Files' which was released last Friday. The film is based on the story of the attack on Pandits in Kashmir in the 1990s and their attempt to flee. The film is directed by Vivek Agnihotri.

Assam Chief Minister 

Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma watched the film in a theater with his cabinet ministers yesterday. He tweeted, "The Kashmiri Pandit genocide & their exodus are a blot on humanity. Moved by the heart-wrenching portrayal of their plight in #TheKashmirFiles, which I watched along with my Cabinet colleagues and MLAs of @BJP4Assam & allies. Kudos @vivekagnihotri & co for holding out the truth."

He further tweeted, "Glad to announce that our Govt employees will be entitled for half-day special leave to watch #TheKashmirFiles. They will have to only inform their superior officers and submit the tickets the next day."

Appreciations on the film

After watching the film, which was released on March 11, Indian Prime Minister Modi personally met director Vivek Agnihotri and heaped praises on the movie. On the other hand, the Chief Minister of Tripura and Madhya Pradesh have announced tax exemptions for the film.

Police in Madhya Pradesh have been given a half-day leave to watch the film.Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has said that the film will be screened in large numbers in the state.
