The results of the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections were released yesterday. The DMK-led alliance has won with the majority and MK Stalin is all set to take oath as Chief Minister of the state on May 7. He would be the third CM from DMK to lead the state after Anna and M Karunanidhi.

Stalin was congratulated by various political leaders and film personalities. Composer AR Rahman congratulated the DMK alliance on his Twitter page. He stated –

சமூக நீதி, கல்வி, சுகாதாரம் ஆகியவற்றில் தமிழ்நாடு வரலாறு காணாத வளர்ச்சியடைய, இந்தியாவின் ஒருமைப்பாட்டிற்கு ஓர் எடுத்துக்காட்டாய்த் திகழ, தி.மு.க கூட்டணிக்கு என் மனமார்ந்த வாழ்த்துகள்!#tamilnadu

Replying to Rahman, Stalin wrote –

இசைப்புயல் - ஆஸ்கர் விருதாளரான தங்களின் வாழ்த்துகளுக்கு நெஞ்சார்ந்த நன்றி. தமிழக மக்கள் சார்பில் தாங்கள் வைத்துள்ள நம்பிக்கையை நிறைவேற்றிடும் வகையில் புதிய அரசு செயல்படும்.

Mamata Banerjee and Pinarayi Vijayan retained their respective states. BJP forms the government in Assam and Puducherry (the latter with alliance partner NR Congress).
