AR Murugadoss and Varun Rajendran reach compromise with Sarkar story issue

Thalapathy Vijay's Sarkar with AR Murugadoss is all set to hit the screens on November 6, Diwali day. The film is produced by Sun Pictures.

In the past couple of weeks, the film has been facing the controversy of story similarities. A filmmaker named Varun Rajendran had claimed that he had written a story with a similar knot and registered it in the writer's association under the title Sengol in 2007.

Later, he had taken to court in this regard. Veteran director Bhagyaraj (President, the South Indian Film Writers' Association) had given a 9-page statement saying Sarkar and Sengol have similarities and that the association wouldn't interfere in Varun moving to court.

After this statement went viral, director AR Murugadoss hit back strongly with proof and questions against the theft claims.

The court hearing was held today (October 30) and director AR Murugadoss had arrived at the Madras High Court. Notably, even K Bhagyaraj was present in court. News has been floating on social media that the concerned parties have compromised on the issue.

We contacted our close sources to know more about it, they revealed that an official verdict is said to arrive from the Madras HC by 1 pm and confirmed that both parties have come to the state of compromise. More details regarding the grounds of compromise are expected to be announced along with the verdict.

So, the issue is said to have been sorted out. Now, it seems like it is a smooth ride ahead for the Sarkar team, towards the release date.
