FIRST TAMIL FILM IN THE WORLD...

Prashanth is gearing up for the release of his film Saagasam, tomorrow, the 5^th of February. Amidst his busy schedule, he talks to behindwoods about his film.

How is Saagasam going to be?

Saagasam is a bubbly and youthful film made for present audiences. It has got all the components of a commercial film in the form of romance, action, thrill, emotion and so on. When you see a good film, you will expect it to have all the ingredients. Saagasam will satisfy all these parameters. The screenplay has turned out very well and it will appeal to all. The action portions will be fast paced and racy.

Shooting locales?

We have shot mostly in Coimbatore, Chennai, Malaysia, Japan and in a few places in UK. We shot the song Sayang Ku in Malaysia for almost nine days. The song Angry Birds sung by Mohit Chauhan was picturized in Japan for more than a week. There are many songs in many films that are shot in Japan but this song will totally be different from them.

Nargis Fakhri

It was very nice of her to dance for a number in the film which will feature in the beginning. We needed someone special to be a part of this song. A lot of names were suggested and suddenly her name came up. We met Nargis and she immediately said yes. It was very sweet of her. The song has turned out very well and she looks gorgeous in it.

Songs in Saagasam

On the songs of Saagasam, we have a number sung by Lakshmi Menon and Simbu, another one by Anirudh. We have a good mixture of songs sung by celebs. The song demanded these voices and hence we went for them. Picturization of all the songs has turned out well.

Unique highlight of Saagasam

We are the only team to shoot in the F1 track in Kuala Lumpur. People have shot in the gallery but we are the first ones in the world to have shot in the main tarmac of the Grand Prix.
