A VILLAIN TAKES TIME TO GET READY

Vikranth was recently seen in Thaakka Thaakka directed by his brother Sanjeev. He is now playing the antagonist in Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Gethu directed by Thirukumaran that has Udhay, Amy Jackson, Karunakaran and others. The film has completed its talkie portions and the songs are the ones which are left to be shot.

Talking about his role, Vikranth says, “It was an unusual experience for me to play the role of an antagonist. The look was also different. I usually get ready in ten minutes. But for Gethu, I took almost an hour to get ready. When you play a negative role, the body language also becomes different. My combination scenes with Udhay will happen in the second half. I myself felt different seeing me in a new avatar. My role will not be like the usual Tamil film villains and it will be a central point for the story”.

Would he do such roles in the future? “If I get such worthwhile negative characters, I don’t mind doing them. It will have a wider reach”.

Gethu has Harris Jayaraj’s music and Sukumar’s cinematography.
