''I HAVE FACED A LOT OF EMBARRASSMENTS BEFORE MY VICTORY'' - ILAYATHALAPATHY VIJAY

The music of the Ilayathalapathy Vijay starrer Puli was launched on August 2nd evening at the grandiose Confluence Resorts in Mahabalipuram. The event was a really memorable affair also attended by the likes of Sridevi, Shruti Haasan and Hansika (the film's three lead ladies) with the Puli technical crew and other cast members also in full attendance. 

 

Vijay was among the first to reach the venue at 4 30 pm and he personally welcomed all the guests at the entrance. This gesture of his earned praises from all the guests who spoke on the occasion. When he finally went up to the podium as the last speaker, it was beyond 9 30 pm. But the wait was totally worth it for all Vijay fans and cine buffs

 

Vijay started off by thanking all his team members without missing a single name. He called Puli a real 'puthu muyarchi' (new attempt) and also said that it was his wish to try out such a genre, since long.

 

Vijay also hit back at pirates and said that he was speaking on everyone's behalf and not just for his film. He also sarcastically talked about all the promo launches nowadays in the form of first look, motion poster, teaser, trailer etc and compared it to the olden days when he used to just see a trailer about 15 days before a film's release.

 

His speech was also peppered with some really roaring statements such as 

 

"En vetriku pinnal neraya avamaanangal" (I have faced a lot of embarrassments before my victory)

 

"Enaku unmaiyaa verukka theriyum, poiyaa nesikka theriyaadhu" (I know to hate truly but don't know to love falsely)

 

"Enakkum ennoda rasiganukkum mathavana vaazha vechi dan pazhakkam. Enna Nanba?" (My fans and I are only used to let other people live, what say friends?)

 

It truly was one of the best ever speeches by Vijay. It was honest, powerful, purposeful, relevant and had some nice tales too, like how Rajini generally does with his public speeches.
