Director Srinath Ramalingam opens up about his September 24 release Unakkenna Venum Sollu
Srinath Ramalingam is a well-known writer and director in Hollywood. Now he is back in Tamil Nadu, creating scripts for actors and actresses in Kollywood. His latest venture, which is seeing a release this Thursday September 24th, is Unakkenna Venum Sollu. The movie is a horror-thriller keeping with the latest trend in Tamil cinema.

He revealed the story to behindwoods.com in an exclusive interview. He said he was trying to bring audiences in and wanted to pique their interest. The director also has some experience of working in Singapore.

The movie is about an immature couple stuck in a live-in relationship. When their child is born, the couple abandons it in an orphanage, where the baby unfortunately dies. After eight years, the child turns a spirit and it comes back to haunt the couple.

Deepak Paramesh, who caught the attention of everyone with his dubsmash videos, is the lead actor. He is popular in the short film circuit too. We have added emotional appeal to the movie and it is targeted at family audiences as well. The first half is pure horror and will have shock value. The climax is a sequence of five incidents. We have also conveyed information on the new field of hypnotherapy,” said the director.

"Mime Gopi, who is making the horror genre all his own, is very authentic as an exorcist", Srinath said.

The movie is based on some real life incidents. It will run for 2 hours and 5 minutes and has been released with a U/A certificate without any cuts.

We wish the film all success.
