AFTER MOHANLAL, IT IS GOING TO BE 'ACTION KING' ARJUN

Director Arun Vaidhyanathan after his debut Tamil film Achchamundu Achchamundu went on to do Peruchazhi in Malayalam with Mohanlal. Now the director will be back to Tamil with a crime thriller with Action King Arjun as the lead.

Talking to behindwoods, Arun informs, “I will be doing my next film with Arjun as the lead which will be produced by I studios that funded Kappal. It would be a new kind of a film and I am quite excited. The film is untitled as of now and is a crime thriller. We are right now in pre-production phase which is expected to go on for 2 to 2.5 months after which we will start the production. Plans are on to complete the film by this year end. We would be making exciting announcements about the film in a phased manner. Usually, some portions of my film would be shot abroad but this time around the entire film will be shot in India only”.

Is the film going to be a bilingual? “There are chances that it could be a bilingual but as of now, we have not decided on that. We are going to concentrate only on Tamil right now”. What about the casting? “It is going to be interesting. We are signing one by one and would be announcing the same soon”.

On Arjun’s role and the genre of the film, Arun states, “He will play the role of a crime branch cop but not like the regular khaki cop. You will see a cool, stylish, thinking and a composed Arjun sir in the film. When I readied the script, Arjun sir was the first one I approached and he instantly liked it. He also said that he was looking for something like this and agreed to be on board”.
