THOONGAAVANAM'S TRAILER IS A VIRAL HIT

The trailer for Kamal Haasan’s Thoongaavanam is out. The aspect that stands out the most is the soundtrack by Ghibran, which gels well with the stylish splicing of the film. Rajesh M Selva, who has been with Raaj Kamal Films International for the last seven years, has been given a golden opportunity to direct such a prestigious venture which is an adaptation of the 2011 French action thriller, Sleepless Night.

Trisha plays the female lead and there doesn’t seem to be a love angle for her with Kamal, at least in the trailer. Prakash Raj plays the villain and the movie seems to revolve around the son of Kamal’s character. Trisha has unusually dubbed for this film, she has also thanked Kamal for his help with her Tamil.

The look of the film is dark, with good use of lighting. Critics of the film have already called it a neo-noir crime thriller. Kamal plays a Narcotics Control Bureau official who is in a head-on collision with Prakash Raj’s character. The trailer sets the pace for the release of the film around Diwali time. In less than 2 days' time, the trailer has already clocked more than 1 million views. A sign of its popularity !!
