There are no new Tamil movie releases this week

May 15, 2014

With Rajini's Kochadaiiyaan set to release in a grand manner next week, there won't be any new Tamil releases this Friday (May 16th). In a year, which has been packed with many new movies every other week, the coming Friday is definitely an exception.

Of course, Godzilla's Tamil dubbed version would get a fairly wide release in both the 2D and 3D versions but that doesn't count as a straight Tamil movie. Ajith's 25th movie, Amarkalam would also be re-released in a few old single screens across the city. Last week's releases, Yaamirukka Bayamey (with great word of mouth) and Vallavanukku Pullum Aayudham (riding on Santhanam's popularity) are expected to rule the box-office for another week before 'The King' arrives.
But people across the state and all over India, are expected to be glued to their TV sets tomorrow as the Lok Sabha election results would be known through the course of the day. This would be the hot topic of debate over the weekend as all eyes are on the next ruling front. Even IPL is wisely taking a back-seat with no matches tomorrow and on Saturday.

Guess K-Town has also taken a wise decision in not releasing new movies this weekend, as we wait with bated breath for the all-important election results and also Kochadaiiyaan a few days later.
