Parthiban and his heroics !

Director Parthiban is a real HERO now !

Aug 23, 2014

Tamil cinema is in a state where the director should also double up as an under-cover agent post his/her movie's release. After actor Vishal, man with a difference R. Parthiban, has literally gone all the way to the actual place where pirated CDs are sold.

There is this heist like video being shot from a phone camera possibly. The 'Kadhai Thiraikadhai Vasanam Iyakkam' team headed by the director himself has captured this moment of a customer buying pirated film CDs from a local store at the Burma bazaar in Parrys corner in Chennai from a distance.
Like a scene from Kaakka Kaakka, where Pandiya waits for the right time to enter Anbuchelvan's house, Parthiban who is simultaneously busy reporting all of this to somebody over phone, waits for the cue and then straightaway walks to the store with the camera following him.
The store keeper is taken aback seeing the director of the very same movie, whose pirated CDs he's selling illegally. As usual, crowd gathers, the camera man shooting the video zooms into a list that has a list of films, even available in HD. Parthiban, at his usual best enquires the store keeper about the number of copies available and even requests somebody to take a picture of him and the store keeper. This is what we get from the video that's doing the rounds.
When our Behindwoods PRO team managed to get more on this from Parthiban, he quotes, "The ones we caught are just the employees. They are in remand now. The owner is missing for now. Ashtalakhsmi theater at a place called Annoor near Coimbatore is where they have managed to make CDs of my film. All actions are taken to seal the theater and arrest the owners. This is just the beginning. Everybody wants to make money, but there are ways to make it'.
One daring move from Parthiban and team. Kudos to their audacious effort!
