"It might be Arya and Santhanam" - Producer Vinoth Kumar

Nov 07, 2013

Vijay Vasanth's upcoming movie Ennamo Nadakuthu directed by Rajapandi is up and ready for release. The producer of the movie, V. Vinoth Kumar who is also Vijay's brother spoke to us about the movie and his future plans.

Tell us something about Ennamo Nadakuthu. What kind of difference will it create for Vijay Vasanth?
The movie will be an action thriller mixed with romance. The story is based in Chennai. Vijay will play the role of a person who takes up contracts for sticking posters. He will appear in a different look and will speak in a North Madras accent.
How did you get into the production line? Was it planned or an impromptu decision?
It was thoroughly planned. We've been working on the idea for the past 5 years. I am happy to have kick started our own production house, Triple V records.
How has Premgi's music shaped up in the film?
Premgi's music is superb. We had released the single yesterday and are planning to launch the audio by the 21st of November.
You had appeared in a tiny character in a hair saloon in Chennai 600028. Any plans of taking up another role in movies other than production?

(Laughs) That was for Venkat Prabhu. I am glad you remember that. I am concentrating in production at the moment. We have the remake rights of a Malayalam movie called Makeup Man, that had Jayaram in the lead. We are planning to start that project next year. I might work as the co-director in that movie. I am currently taking care of our Vasanth Channel too. So I am not sure if I will find time.
Whom are you planning to cast in the remake of Makeup man?
We are looking at a big cast. Someone like Arya and Santhanam.
We haven't fixed the director yet. I have spoken to the director of Ennamo Nadakuthu. He might take it up. If not, we would look for some other director with a good humour sense. Because Makeup Man is a comedy movie.
The current cinema trend focuses on edgy movies and fresh ideas. What kind of movies do you plan to produce? Are there any high budget movies in your mind?
I wouldn't want to produce high budget movies. We are looking at producing good stories at a medium range. We are planning to produce one or two movies and also make about three to four music albums every year.
Ennamo Nadakuthu is slated for release by the end of this year and the audio launch will be on November 21st. With Premgi's single track 'Money Money' reaching the ears of audience and liked by many,  Ennamo Nadakuthu is definitely a movie that could be looked out for.
