Bhagyaraj’s Mundhanai Mudichu was a huge hit of 1980s and is still a very popular film, particularly for its ‘Murungai Kai’ comedy. Bhagyaraj had directed it and starred in it alongside Oorvasi. Ilayaraja’s music was also a highlight of the film.

Almost two decades post its release, a sequel to this comedy film is on its way, say reports. Actor Jeeva of Lollu Sabha fame will play the protagonist and Bhagyaraj and Oorvasi will play his parents. The word is that Rashmi Gautham will be paired opposite Jeeva and the film is likely to have Pandiarajan and Santhanam doing pivotal roles.
 

Sriram Padmanabhan, who earlier helmed Doo, will wield the megaphone for this sequel and Abhishek will compose music for it.
