After the debacle faced by Mani Ratnam in his recent outing, he is back and this time he had chosen a breezy romantic tale with OK Kanmani. Already, the first glimpse of the movie got released, which gave some hope about the movie. With a lot of expectations escalated after that, the official trailer is finally out now and it just proves to be an extension of that hope and it further ballooned the expectations.

The trailer starts off showing the picturesque view of daybreak in Mumbai and then proceeds forward in introducing the characters. Dulquer Salmaan, who comes as Aadhi, is portrayed as a happy-go-lucky person who doesn't want to get trapped into any commitments. Nithya Menon, who comes as Tara, plays his love interest in the movie. Their meet happens in a wedding where they get to introduce each other in a quirky way. From there, it goes on to show some glimpses of their love affair with scenes exhibiting a contemporary storytelling, which clearly conveys the message that our ace film maker is back.

The trailer is refreshing, captivating with chilly visuals, fast moving frames with slightly shaky lens and a pulsating number that weaves in the background throughout the trailer. Surely, you will start mouthing the lyrics the moment you watch the trailer and the song will keep on reverberating in your head, which evidently proves the work of our musical storm (Isai Puyal).

Clearly, it’s a fully fledged urban love story that comes from Maniratnam's stable after Alaipayuthey and he had retained the same technical team for this movie also. Hence, it’s a fine amalgamation of the top-notch personalities (Mani Ratnam, A.R Rahman, P.C Sreeram and Sreekar Prasad) and yet again they have set out to gratify all our expectations.

So, this trailer indeed gives a very strong feeling and hope that the movie would certainly evince the long lost magic of Mani Ratnam once again and would bring back the days of yore for the legendary film maker. Hoping for that to happen soon and wishing him all the best!
