2014 is set to open with a huge box-office clash; apart from this type of big business there is lot expectation with this year. Let us go through it,

 

Energetic & different storylines: Much expected storyline is none other than Vikram staring Shankar’s Ai, still now we didn’t know the correct storyline. But we all know Director Shankar could do something different. Prabhu Solomon’s Kayal is expected to have an energetic storyline since the cast includes only new comers. Storyline Arya staring Meagamann will show the life style sailors in the ship. Santhosh Sivan’s directional Ceylon story revolves around a group of teenagers in an orphanage set during the civil war in Sri Lanka. Pizza director Karthik Subbaraj’s next Jigarthanda is about a director who wants to make a film on a gangster and so he meets a real life gangster. Remember Forbes magazine had declared Jigarthanda as one among the five Indian movies to watch out in 2014.

 

Next level technology: Superstar Rajinikanth’s Kochadaiiyaan is India’s first performance capture photorealistic film. Special effects of Shankar’s Ai will be made in Hollywood. Suriya-Lingusamy-Santhosh Sivan’s untitled film is first Indian film to use Red Dragon Digital Camera.

 

Multi star cast: We all know Jilla brought Vijay & Mohanlal together. Meanwhile Director Vasanthabalan had roped Siddharth & Prithviraj for historical film Kaaviya Thalaivan. S. P. Jananathan will direct a film (Purampokku ) after a long time with Arya, Vijay Sethupathi & Shaam in lead roles.

 

Sequels: Much awaited sequel of 2014 is Kamal Haasan’s Vishwaroopam2, hope we get many answers from this film as X-men series got many answers from X-men First class. Apart from Vishwaroopam2 other sequels to come in 2014 are Salim (sequel to Naan), Jaihind2 & Muni3.

 

New hero’s & come back stars: After Vijay Antony G.V.Prakash turned as actor in 2014. VTV Ganesh also turned as hero for Inga Enna Solluthu. Veteran comedy actor Goundamani is set to begin his second innings with lead roles. Another veteran actor Karthik will be seen in supporting role with K.V.Anand’s Anegan, which has Dhanush in lead role.  Vadivelu is also set to have come back after some political issues.

 

New Directors: Well known cinematographers Ravi K. Chandran & Velraj will be seen in new avatar in 2014. Ravi K. Chandran will direct Jiiva for the film Yaan & Velraj will direct Dhanush in Velaiyilla Pattathari. Yesteryear popular actress Sripriya & Rohini will seen as new directors from 2014.

 

Delayed release: Most of low budget and new comer movies suffered a lot to release in 2013. Hope this problem can overcome at least in 2014. Some of the much delayed movies are Vallinam, Kadhal 2 Kalyanam, JK Enum Nanbanin Vaazhkai, Puthiya Thiruppangal, Rendavathu Padam, Nalanum Nandhiniyum, Kalavaadiya Pozhuthugal, etc.
