Tamil cinema witnessed a bizarre press meet today when actress turned producer Sona convened one to announce that she was a victim of a rape attempt. She accused actor – producer S P B Charan of attempting to rape her and treating her derogatorily at the Mankatha success party.
According to Sona, she attended the Mankatha success party thrown by Vaibhav at his residence where Charan grabbed her and attempted to sexually assault her. Earlier, Sona visited the Pondy Bazaar police station and lodged a formal complaint against Charan for attempted rape.
Her press meet was widely attended by media houses.
