Lyricist Ilayakavi died in a road accident. He had penned the lyrics for six songs in the film Porulu, which is due to be released shortly. Ilayakavi was riding a motorbike and two of his friends, said to be assistant directors, were pillion riding when the accident occurred.
The trio was on their way for a story discussion with a prospective producer when Ilayakavi met with the accident. While Ilayakavi died on the spot, Murali and Sezhiyan are admitted to a hospital in a very critical condition.
