The world rights of Santhosh Sivan's ambitious film Urumi, featuring a stellar cast of Prithviraj, Genelia, Arya, Tabu, Prabhu Deva, and Vidya Balan has been bagged by Kalaipuli S Thanu. The producer feels that Urumi can hold its own among the best of World cinema and wants to promote it across the globe and make sure that it gets the recognition it deserves.
Urumi is an epic saga that tells the story of Chirakkal Kelu Nayyanar and his attempt to resist the advance of the Portugese by assasinating the Portugese explorer, Vasco da Gama who had landed on the Malabar coast. The film came in for a lot of critical acclaim for both the cast and crew.
