Popular music director GV Prakash Kumar apart from composing has also taken singing seriously. The lad lent his voice for the first time at a very young age for the song Chikku Bukku Railye in Gentleman composed by his uncle AR Rahman. After that he worked under Harris Jeyaraj and has sang a few lines from two songs in Anniyan and Unnale Unnale.

He made his music directing debut with Vasantha Balan's Veyil in 2006 but did not sing until 2010 in Va-Quarter Cutting which was followed by Yathe Yathe from Aadukalam. He has, therefore decided to take singing seriously and has now sung a song for the upcoming Vikram movie Pitha directed by AL Vijay, for which he is composing the music too.
