Sargunam of Kalavani fame is all set to release his period film with Vimal, Vaagai Sooda Va. Amala Paul was the first choice for the heroine's role. She had agreed to do it immediately. Sargunam told her that he wanted her to devote a lot of time and attention to the film in order to make it authentic. Rehearsals would be conducted and only then will they proceed to filming.
Amala Paul agreed but this was before Myna happened. Following its release Amala Paul became one of the most sought after actresses in the South. She was flooded with offers and that too with top stars. She became very busy and it became difficult for her to give Vaagai Sooda Va the amount of time Sargunam required.
The Myna babe talked things over with the director and asked if it she could cut rehearsals and just turn up for the shooting. But Sargunam said it would not work out and they parted ways amicably and agreed to work together in future. And that is how new face Iniya got the part.
